Practice Areas:
Environmental
and Land Use Issues
Both
the State and municipalities regulate the use of land and natural resources.
This can be through the Department
of Environmental Protection (DEP), the Land
Use Regulation Commission (LURC), or through municipalities. Each
of these agencies and each town have different laws, regulations, and
ordinances that govern the use of land within its jurisdiction and the
processes to change use.
Depending
on circumstances, speaking with code enforcement or agency staff, submitting
a site plan for review, obtaining a variance, appealing a zoning board
decision, or changing a use or structure can be a quirky and complex legal
matter. Perhaps you need to get permits for your upcoming project and
need to ensure you do not miss the short building season. Moving through
these processes can be difficult and timing can become crucial. An attorney
can be instrumental in guiding you through the process.

you are an individual or business that may need an opinion or representation

General Counsel Services for Small Businesses
Typically
if you own a small business, you do not have the need or resources for
in house counsel. However for the small business owner a multitude of
issues fly across your desk daily that you would not typically spend the
time finding and retaining counsel. Seeing this gap in accessibility I
offer outsourced “in house” general counsel for small businesses.
This allows you the accessibility of a legal opinion without the overhead
of keeping an attorney on staff and I offer affordable fixed pricing and
flexible agreements.
As a small business owner you probably have questions about employment
issues, general human resources structure and/or implementation, contract
provisions, collections or other questions. As your “in house”
general counsel I will be familiar with your business and give you comprehensive
long term legal support.
Being
able to pick up the phone without worrying about the cost of the call
adds value by dealing with legal issues proactively and not waiting for
crisis to set in before contacting an attorney. It also adds value through
streamlining you business process allowing you to spend more time doing
what you want to, running your business.
